Chiefs Come to Terms with Fifth Round Pick Smith

The Chiefs today announced that they have come to terms with their fifth-round draft choice, running back Kolby Smith.  He becomes the second draft choice to sign with the Chiefs as they get set for training camp in July.  Smith saw action in 45 games (12 starts) at Louisville, logging 316 carries for 1,892 yards (6.0 avg.) with 18 TDs. He also added 56 receptions for 581 yards and two TDs. He appeared in all 13 contests (10 starts) for the Cardinals in 2006, registering a career-high 154 carries for 891 yards (5.6 avg.) and seven TDs. He also caught 24 passes for 217 yards (9.0 avg.).
