Allen’s Four Game Suspension Dropped to Two Games

Allen

Good news for Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen, who has had his 4-game suspension dropped down to two games by the league. The move means that the 4th year starter will be back on the field for the teams home opener on September 23rd vs the Vikings, and big division game the next week at home vs the Chargers. Allen had been suspended for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy after he earned two DUI charges.

“My whole approach has changed now,” Allen said in the Kansas City Star Sunday. “With the whole four weeks, I was going to head back to Arizona and train as if I was in the offseason. Four weeks is quite a long time. Two weeks is a totally different game. Most likely I’ll just stay in Kansas City and stay ready to play. “I’m excited about this. It changes training camp for me. It will change the way I approach preseason.” Allen will give up his game checks for the two games that he misses.

The Chiefs defense is sure to get a big boost when he returns to the lineup after he misses the first two games.
