No Big Surprises In Chiefs First Cuts

With less than two-weeks to go before the season opener, the Chiefs had to trim the roster to 75 yesterday.  There were no real surprises.  Wide receiver Rod Gardner’s contract was terminated.  Among the other nine players released were offensive lineman Kevin Sampson.  In his three-years as a Chief, he started seven games.  Last year’s fifth-round pick, corner Marcus Maxey, was also let go.  And the team placed guard Chris Bober, along with three others, on injured reserve.
