The Chiefs finally broke their losing streak, but no one will tell you it was an easy victory. The Chiefs took their home opener 13-10 over the Minnesota Vikings. Kansas City was down 10-3 in the first half, with the Vikings holding the Chiefs to just 51 total yards. But the defense rallied after halftime with five sacks in all, the most in nearly three years, and held Minnesota scoreless over its last seven possessions. First-round draft pick Dwayne Bowe caught seven passes for 71 yards and the winning touchdown. Jared Allen made a triumphant return after his NFL-enforced two-game suspension. The Chiefs are now at 1-and-2, just one game back in the division. They’ll spend most of this week getting ready for next Sunday’s game against the Chargers in San Diego.
