Win Streak Over Raiders Continues in 12-10 Victory

Chiefs RB Larry Johnson provided all the offense the team would need, as Kansas City beat the Raiders again, this time in Oakland 12-10. It was the 9th straight win over the Raiders. Johnson ran for 112 yards and scored the deciding TD early in the 4th quarter to go up 12-7. Oakland had a last shot, as they got the ball down 12-10 with 1:38 left. After driving to their 44, Daunte Culpepper threw a pick to Jason Page to end the Raiders last threat.
Kansas City improves to 4-3 on the season, dropping the Raiders to 2-4. Damon Huard went 16-for-31 for KC, with 177 yards. Culpepper was 18-for-29 for 228 yards with a TD and a pick. Neither team did all that much on offense, as the Raiders went for just 268 total yards, while the Chiefs went for 290 yards. The big stat was that Oakland was only able to rush for 55 yards, as the Chiefs held LaMont Jordan to 29 yards on 11 carries.
The game also marked the return for Chiefs RB Priest Homles, who had not played since the 2005 season. He entered the game on the third Chiefs drive, and ended the day rushing the ball four times for 9 yards. He caught one pass but was dumped for minus six yards on it.
