Chiefs Close But Lose Late 13-10 in Indy

In an effort that was somewhat like their early season win over the Chargers, the KC Chiefs almost pulled a big road upset Sunday, but in the end fell to the champion Colts 13-10 at the RCA Dome.  Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri missed a clutch field goal last week against the Chargers, but today he [...]

L.J. Says He’s Not Out For Remainder

Larry Johnson insists that he will not be out of action for the rest of the season.  LJ has been walking without his boot-cast, and says he and his therapists are doing everything they can to get him back on the field.  One thing is known — he won’t play the Colts this Sunday.  That [...]

Croyle Won’t Repeat Preseason Mistakes

New Chiefs starting quarterback Brodie Croyle took his first snaps in practice yesterday.  The third-round draft pick struggled with the position in preseason, but says he has regrouped and is better prepared and won’t make the same mistakes.  Croyle will have his first opportunity to prove that Sunday in Indianapolis against the Colts.

Holmes to See Most of the Workload Sunday vs Colts

Priest Holmes will take on running back duties, while Larry Johnson misses his second game in-a-row because of his foot injury.  Team doctors say the swelling is subsiding, and L.J. can walk on it, but he’s still unable to play.  He’s set to visit a specialist on Monday.  Meanwhile, Brodie Croyle is ready to start [...]

Brodie Croyle is, once again, the Chiefs’ starting quarterback.  He’ll start Sunday in Indianapolis against the Colts.  He replaced Damon Huard on Sunday after Huard was injured late in the Chiefs’ loss to the Denver Broncos.  Head coach Herm Edwards announced yesterday that the substitution would be permanent, or at least as permanent as these [...]

Broncos Run Over Chiefs 27-11 at Arrowhead

Selvin Young had 20 carries for 109 yards and a score as the Broncos cruised past the division-rival Chiefs, 27-11, at Arrowhead Stadium.  Jay Cutler had 192 passing yards, including a 18-yard touchdown toss to tight end Daniel Graham to seal the deal, for Denver, which moved to 4-and-5 on the year.  Nate Webster returned [...]

Huard Injury Forces Quarterback Change

An injury to Damon Huard has forced the Chiefs to make a change at quarterback.  The switch to Brodie Croyle might even be permanent, or at least as permanent as these things go.  Huard got hurt when he was sacked by the Broncos Elvis Dumervil in the third quarter, moments after Denver took a 13-8 [...]
