Awful Season Over as Chiefs Fall to Jets 13-10

Coach Herm Edwards says he’s glad it’s over, but he’s not going to dwell on the Chiefs’ miserable season. It finally came to an end yesterday with a 13-10 overtime loss to his old team, the New York Jets, at Giants Stadium. The Chiefs held the Jets scoreless into the second-quarter, but then New York took a 7-0 lead. With three-minutes left in the game, a Brodie Croyle touchdown tied things up at 10, forcing overtime. But Jets kicker Mike Nugent — who was drafted by Edwards himself — sailed a 33-yarder through the post. Jared Allen finished the year on top of the NFL, with 15-and-a-half sacks. Tony Gonzalez broke the record for a tight end, with 816 career receptions. Ninety-nine of those came this season. The Chiefs finish the year at 4-and-12, with nine losses in-a-row.
