Who has Fantasy Value for the Chiefs?

Gonzalez

Fantasy drafting can be tough. If you are too much of a homer and over evaluate your teams players and reach for them. You could leave your roster lacking any real depth. If you?re a Chiefs fan it can be scary drafting players from the home town team. The retooling that has been done to the playbook and offensive line should give fantasy owners hope in a couple of players.

1.Larry Johnson: Last season was a disaster for Larry plain and simple. Contract hold out, no offensive line, he never could seem to get going then the injury bug hit. Causing him to miss the rest of the season. He has a new offensive line and a game plan built around him. Even with Jamal Charles and Kolby Smith looking for action expect LJ to get the ball early and often.

Season prediction: 335 carries 1427 yards 14 TD?s

Draft projection: Late first round

2. Tony Gonzalez: The rock of consistency the last five years he has been over 900 yards. That type of production is very hard to get from the tight end position. And starting quarterback Brodie Croyle should be looking for TG as a safety blanket and new cordinator Chan Gailey will find some creative ways to get him open. He should be in the top three at his position to be drafted.

Saeson prediction: 82 catches 952 yards 7 TD?s

Draft projection: Late fourth round

3: Dwayne Bowe: Most receivers are supposed to struggle in their rookie seasons. D-BO accelled in every opportunity given to him. Falling 5 yards short of a thousand last year his stats will increase simply off more expeince and being the man from day one. A lot will depend if he can develop a good relationship with Brodie on the field. All in all Bowe should be a safe bet for 2008

Season prediction: 85 catches 1264 yards 9 TD?s

Draft projection: Late third early fourth round

4: Chiefs Defense: Not the most imitating defense last year but they did play effientaly most of the time last year. Ranking middle of the pack in yards per game and points per game last year. To their credit they have added speed and athleticisim on that side of the ball this year but they did lose Jared Allen.

Season prediction: Right around top 11 to 14 range in yards per game and scoring defense

Draft projection: Last two or three rounds

5: Brodie Croyle : Only draft as a # 2 QB on your team. Could be a nice pick up if he can grasp the offense and get some protection. Perfect stop gap for your bye week.

Season prediction: 243 completions 437 attempts 2934 yards 18 TD?s 16 INT?s

Draft projection: Last round
