The Chiefs opened home play at Arrowhead with a 27-17 loss to the visiting Arizona Cardinals in both teams’ second preseason game. The Chiefs’ first team ran into the same problems that they faced last season as the team moved the ball on two key drives that only resulted in field goals. Larry Johnson got a heavier-than-expected workload, carrying the ball 14 times for 61 yards on the ground. The Chiefs’ lone touchdown came in the last seconds as Tyler Thigpen hit Sergio Joachim for the 14-yard score. The Chiefs play Miami this Saturday as both head in after a disappointing 2007 season.
