The Chiefs have decided that their rebuilding team is going to keep one of their all-time greats in tight end Tony Gonzalez. The trading deadline came and went on Tuesday, and while the Lions dealt WR Roy Williams to the Cowboys, Gonzalez stayed put with the 1-4 Chiefs.
The 32-year-old had asked to be moved, but the team could not come up with a partner. There were rumors that the Eagles, Bills and Giants were three teams that had interest in the future HOF TE. “He’s going to be at practice tomorrow,” coach Herm Edwards said. “He’s going to practice. That’s what he’s paid to do. He a professional football player.”
