“This is a clean slate for the entire group of Kansas City Chiefs as far as I’m concerned,” coach Todd Haley said. “We’re at ground zero, and this is an opportunity for everybody. As Scott and I have both said along the line here, we’re looking for guys that want to be Kansas City Chiefs, that want to put their chips all-in and be a part of something special. Football has got to be first.”
Okay, I realize it was only the first day of the Chiefs offseason conditioning program, but new head coach Todd Haley’s words defined conviction, certainty and purpose. Maybe I’m being overly optimistic and even naive. However it might be perceived, that was anything but the usual front office PR-BS we’re so accustom to hearing this time of year.
Could it actually be, that at long last, the time has come to stash the doubt and pessimistic grumbling and push our chips all-in?
