Chiefs Charity Game and CCVI Host a Pair of Preview Events

Over the years, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chiefs Children’s Fund have worked in unison to make life better for children in our community. One of the ways this is accomplished is via the annual Chiefs Charity Game. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Charity Game this year will go to benefit the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI).

Recently, the Chiefs and CCVI teamed up to host a pair of special events in advance of the August 29th Chiefs Charity Game. While these preview events took place nearly a month before the Chiefs meet the Seattle Seahawks in the official Charity Game, the spirit of benevolence as easy to spot.

First, guests were invited to get an exclusive look inside the draft process. Attendees heard presentations from former Chiefs greats such as FB Kimble Anders and LB Gary Spani as well as Team President Denny Thum and Director of Salary Cap/General Counsel Woodie Dixon. Each individual shared their unique perspective on what factors go into making an NFL roster coming out of the colligate ranks.

Still, the highlight of the evening came when those in attendance took to the team’s indoor practice field where they had an NFL-style combine experience all their own. Chiefs C Rudy Niswanger and others put the evening’s guests through the trials at stations covering such gridiron mainstays as the 40-yard dash, agility/cone drills, QB pocket passing and the vertical jump.
