Workload Starting to Wear on RB Charles
Pro Football Weekly reports that the workload is starting to get to running back Jamaal Charles:
RB Jamaal Charles has been a tremendous spark for the Chiefs, rushing for 100 yards in each of his last three games and practically carrying the offense during the second half of the season but for the 5-11, 199-pound back, this increased workload has taken its toll. Averaging nearly 22 carries over his past four outings, we hear Charles is feeling extremely beaten up, hobbling into the locker room lately “like a 35-year-old man” and dealing with a shoulder injury to go along with his general aches and pains, the 23-year-old is sorely in need of the extended rest he’s
about to get. Seeing the effect being a bell cow has had on Charles, we’re told the Chiefs almost certainly will look for a bigger back this offseason that can complement their newfound star.
