Chiefs Come to Terms with 5th Round Pick DB Kendrick Lewis

The Chiefs have signed fifth-round defensive back Kendrick Lewis, the team announced. The 6-foot, 198-pounder was the first of the Chiefs’ two fifth-round selections, 136th overall.

He appeared in 44 games with 38 starts at Mississippi, generating 226 tackles, six interceptions, 18 pass deflections, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He also registered 10 tackles for loss, three sacks and two blocked kicks. He also recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown.

Lewis earned all-state honors as a wide receiver during his senior season at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Ga.
