The Chiefs announced today the signing of veteran defensive lineman Attiyah Ellison. He was a third-round pick out of Missouri by the Panthers in 2005, but didn’t appear in his first NFL regular season game until last season.
A starter in six of 15 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Ellison totaled 28 tackles and a quarterback sack and was re-signed by the Jaguars in March. Ellison had four tackles during the pre-season, and was released as part of Jacksonville’s final roster cuts. In addition to Carolina and Jacksonville, Ellison has had stints with the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
Ellison fills the roster spot of 2009 third-round pick Alex Magee, who was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
Wonder if the Ellison signing was a “let’s see what this guy know about the opponent” signing?
