Vrabel Arrested for Stealing Beer From an Indiana Casino

In an odd turn of events, Mike Vrabel was arrested on Monday after being accused of stealing beer from a casion on Florence, Indiana. Here’s the report from the KC Star.

Chiefs linebacker Mike Vrabel was arrested Monday morning at the Belterra Casino in Florence, Ind., and charged with class D felony theft. He was later released on a $600 cash bond after he was booked at the Switzerland County sheriff’s department.

Contacted by e-mail, Vrabel issued a statement to The Star that read:

“It was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and I take full responsibility for the miscommunication. I’m sorry and I feel comfortable that after talking with the appropriate parties, we will resolve this matter.”

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Switzerland County Circuit Court, surveillance video showed Vrabel entering the Deli Bar at the casino and taking eight bottles of beer.

Also according to the affidavit, agent Trevor Harmon of the Indiana Gaming Commission said Vrabel asked on several occasions if he could pay for the beers and be allowed to return to his room at the hotel.
