TE Moeaki Placed on IR as Chiefs Get Roster to 53

The Chiefs placed tight end Tony Moeaki on injured reserve on Saturday among their moves to get to the 53- man roster limit. Moeaki suffered a torn ACL in Thursday’s preseason finale against Green Bay and will now sit out the 2011 season.

Defensive cuts for the Chiefs included defensive linemen Harold Ayodele and Dion Gales, linebackers Justin Cole, Micah Johnson, Amara Kamara and Pierre Walters, safeties Reshard Langford and Ricky Price, defensive backs Quinten Lawrence and Demond Washington and defensive tackle Anthony Toribio.

The offensive cuts were fullback Shane Bannon and Mike Cox, tight ends Charlie Gantt and Cody Slate, tackle Bobby Greenwood, offensive linemen Chris Harr, Mike Ingersoll, Butch Lewis, David Mims and Lucas Patterson, guard Darryl Harris and wide receivers Jeremy Horne, Zeke Markshausen and Verran Tucker.

Rookie linebacker Gabe Miller was placed on injured reserve.
