Chiefs Ink Free Agent CB Jacques Reeves

The Chiefs announced that they have signed free agent cornerback Jacques Reeves.

Terms were not disclosed.

A 2004 seventh-round pick out of Purdue by the Dallas Cowboys, Reeves played in a reserve role for three seasons before starting 13 of 16 games in 2007 and posting 60 tackles, his first career interception and 18 passes defensed. Reeves parlayed that season into a five-year, $20 million contract from the Houston Texans.

Reeves had a career-high four interceptions in 2008, but broke his leg early in training camp the following season and missed the first month of the regular season. Reeves had 31 tackles and an interception as a part-time starter in 12 games in 2009 before he was released as part of the final roster cuts before the 2010 season.
