Chiefs to Work Out Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill This Week

The Chiefs are one of two teams that are going to take a look this week at high profile college QB Ryan Tannehill.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated reports KC along with Philly are going to work out the Texas A&M quarterback on his college campus.

The Eagles are working him out today, and the Chiefs coming to his campus later on this week.

Both the Chiefs and Eagles already have high profile QB’s, with KC having Matt Cassel, and the Eagles having Michael Vick, but that doesn’t appear to be stopping either team from looking at Tannehill.

“I don’t really know why,” Tannehill told King of the Eagles’ interest on Saturday night. “I’ll just get ready to throw for them and do my best.”

The Chiefs have the 11th pick, while the Eagles pick 15th in this month’s draft. There’s two big roadblocks for the Chiefs and Eagles when it comes to Tannehill, and that is the Browns at 4, and Miami at 8.

Most draft experts feel there is NO WAY that the QB will drop below Miami at 8, meaning if KC or Philly want him, they may have to move up and grab him.

The 6-foot-4, 221-pound Tannehill began his college career as a quarterback, but was moved to wide receiver, catching 112 passes for 1,596 yards and 10 touchdowns before moving back to quarterback on a full-time basis in 2010.
