Chiefs Go OL in Round Two, Grab Illinois OT Jeff Allen

The Chiefs went with a Second-team All-Big Ten selection with their 2nd round pick, as they grabbed Illinois OT Jeff Allen.

Here’s a Scouting Report on Allen:

2010: Second-team All-Big Ten selection by media and honorable mention by coaches … Team captain … Named team’s Outstanding Offensive Lineman at postseason banquet … Started all 13 games at weak-side tackle … Helped pave the way for the top rushing offense in the Big Ten and the 11th best in the nation (246.1 ypg) … The Illini offense broke school records for points in a season (423) and points per game (32.54) in addition to producing the fourth-most total yards (5,162) and second-most rushing yards (3,199) in school history … Had his first career reception vs. SIU, catching a deflection for two yards … Earned team’s Best Effort Offense award during 2010 spring drills. 2009: Started all 12 games at left tackle … Illinois’ rushing offense ranked 17th in the NCAA and second in the Big Ten. 2008: Earned second-team Freshman All-America honors from The Sporting News … Started nine of 11 games played as a true-freshman at right tackle … Part of an offensive line that helped the Illini lead the Big Ten in pass offense (269.3) and rank second in total offense (439.4) … Enrolled at Illinois in January 2008. Personal: Uncle, Shon Williams, played football at Miami.
