The Chiefs have moved second-year cornerback Tremon Smith to running back according to BJ Kissel of kcchiefs.com.
A sixth-round pick out of Central Arkansas in 2018, Smith played 82 snaps on defense as a rookie but was an FCS All-American in college with 15 career interceptions.
He is also fast, having run 4.32 on his Pro Day last spring. He adds a speed element to the Chiefs’ backfield where Smith will compete with Darrel Williams and rookie Darwin Thompson behind Damien Williams and Carlos Hyde.
