A report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network states that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will have a ‘very light practice’ today as the prep starts for the Super Bowl Champs against the Buffalo Bills.
The Chiefs remain a three-point favorite to win the AFC Title Game Sunday at 3pm at Arrowhead Stadium.
How Mahomes responds to today’s practice will go a long way in him playing Sunday against the Bills.
He was knocked out of Sunday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Browns with about 7 minutes left in the third quarter when Browns linebacker Mack Wilson drove Mahomes’ head into the ground.
Chad Henne came in, and did enough to lead the Chiefs to a 22-17 win with a heads up run on third down late in the game, and a fourth down pass to Tyreek Hill to seal the win.
Here’s what Rapoport tweeted out about Mahomes and the week ahead to get ready for Sunday’s game.
“Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes will have a very light practice today as part of his plan while in the NFL concussion protocol, source said. Could be listed as limited or DNP, but his work will ramp up during the week. Mahomes, who has no symptoms, will do some tolerance tests, too.”
