Super Bowl Blowout; Chiefs Handed 31-9 Loss in Super Bowl LV by Tampa Bay

It was not pretty.

From the start of Super Bowl LV, the Chiefs high-powered offense which had dominated so many games over the past three seasons simply didn’t look like themselves, and in the end it was the Bucs who made them pay using a dominating defense for a 31-9 win in Super Bowl LV.

There was no comeback from a double-digit deficit like there was in three postseason games a year ago, this time around it was the Chiefs getting a taste of their own medicine, as the Bucs pass rush forced Pat Mahomes to run for his life an amazing 52 percent of his drop backs.

Forget about the penalties that killed Kansas City all night long – from offsides, unnecessary roughness, unsportsmanlike conduct, pass interference and a number of holding penalties.

It was simply tough to watch, and if you’ve watched this Chiefs team at all over the last three seasons as they’ve dominated the NFL, it was a stunner.

Maybe they had it coming. Playing from behind in the NFL is a quick way to find yourself taking a number of “L’s” instead of “W’s” and the Chiefs it seemed like wanted to test themselves allowing themselves to fall behind to the underdog Bucs.

Tampa’s defense though was just too good, and in the end it was a hard pill to swallow that the Chiefs on this night just were not good enough.
