The Chiefs will cost themselves a few slots in the draft order if they can find a way to win one or more of their final three games. Coach Herm Edwards said the benefits of winning to a group of young players outweigh the negatives of dropping in the draft order. Edwards said he realizes many Chiefs fans feel differently. “Fans have a right to their opinion,” he said. “The fans make the game. They’re involved with their football team, and they have emotion. But players and coaches always want to win. That will be our intent the next few weeks. “We’re going to pick regardless, and we’ll get some good players like we did this year.”
