Wind Knocked Out
Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel says he just got the “wind knocked out of him”, when he was trampled by 340-pound Packers lineman Howard Green in Thursday night’s preseason finale at Lambeau Field.
At first glance, Cassel appeared to hurt his throwing shoulder, but he said he just landed on the pigskin and proclaimed he’ll be good to go for the opener at Arrowhead Stadium against Buffalo:
“We were just being cautious,” he said. “I wanted to go back in.” Cassel completed 15-of-17 passes for 129 yards with a touchdown before leaving in the second quarter of the Chiefs 20-19 loss to the Packers.
As for the team’s talented tight end Tony Moeaki, he left with a knee injury.
No news specifying the details of the injury have been revealed at this moment.
CBSSports.com journalist Dave Richard reported that Moeaki stayed in the locker room after halftime, likely getting examined out by team doctors.
