Chiefs Come Close; But Not Close Enough in 13-9 Loss to Steelers

The Chiefs put forth a game effort on Sunday night against the Steelers at home, but in the end, it was one too many Tyler Palko mistakes that allowed Pittsburgh to walk away with a 13-9 win at Arrowhead Stadium.

Keenan Lewis’ interception with less than a minute to go in the fourth sealed the defensive victory by the Steelers. The Steelers’ defense forced four turnovers overall in the contest, three interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Ben Roethlisberger, who was playing with a broken thumb in his throwing hand, completed 21-of-31 passes for 193 yards with the game’s lone touchdown and an interception for Pittsburgh (8-3), which is tied with the Baltimore Ravens for the top spot in the AFC North.

Tyler Palko went 18-for-28 through the air for 167 yards and three interceptions in his second career start.

Dwayne Bowe caught a game-high seven passes for 69 yards and Ryan Succop made all three of his field goal attempts for Kansas City (4-7).

OK, its time to see what your young players have now that the season is almost officially over for the Chiefs. The OL play for the Chiefs has been spotty at best, don’t wait until training camp next year to see the potential of David Mims. Haley, give David Mims game reps and stop farting around with your maligned OL. David Mims is going to be a weapon, take him out of the packaging and play David Mims. Go Chiefs.

Glad to see David Mims moved up before someone else grabbed him off of the Chiefs practice squad. David Mims has the exceptional potential to dominate this league of stars. Give this unique talent time and pity the folks in front of him game day. GO Chiefs.
